I want to talk today about the power of team – a group of people working together to help you get you to where you want to go….

When we think about our favourite football team or basketball team we know that the game goes really well and more goals are scored when the players work together as a team. Each person using their individual skills and abilities to get that one person to score the goal that the team then celebrates! But team work isn’t just for sport, it can be extremely productive in your own life especially when it comes to your financial world .

I have written many times about the importance of setting goals and planning ahead to make sure you achieve those goals but I have also noticed that all of that gets put on the backburner unless there is a team of people around you who are as passionate about your financial goals as you are. It is amazing that we push aside one of the most important areas of our lives, to spend time in meaningless pursuits.

Look at these statistics from 2016:

93% of Australians spent around 1,023 hours watching television – that’s equivalent to 42 days!!!

94% of Australians surfed the web for 1,068 hours – that’s the equivalent of 44.5 days!!

If we would just take back a few of those “days” we would find that we would be a lot better off financially. Yes initially it can take a bit of time and effort to get all of your finances in order but once that’s done 1/2 an hour per week can keep you on top of this most vital area.

So should everyone have a team and if so who should be on it?

Well I’m glad you asked! I’ve put together a list of the people I value on my team:

• Financial Coach
• Accountant
• Financial planner
• Mortgage broker

Each one of these specialists offers a different perspective and the information gained from their own area of expertise is valuable. When I work with my “team” I feel secure in the fact that I am doing the very best I can with my hard earned dollars and this gives me focus and peace of mind .

So even the Coach needs a Coach and a team of people around me for accountability to keep me on track for a strong financial future.

Do you have such a team? If not, please contact us and we’ll help you to get your money in great shape
